The year 2012 was a fun and busy year.
Nick:
*Nick continued his employment at Nucor. I was able to go to the Nucor Family Days with Nick and see where he works. It was fun except for the skywalk.
*Nick teaches the 15 and 16-year-old Sunday School class.
*Nick celebrated his 34th birthday.
*Nick grew a beautiful garden that included potatoes, tomatoes, pumpkins, peas, onions, and squash.
Angie:
*I continued serving as the 2nd Counselor in the Young Women organization.
*I taught preschool until the end of March.
*I completed Level III of Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I had the opportunity to observe and teach in Suzy Lish's Kindergarten classroom. What a great experience! I was able to substitute in this class while Suzy was with Doug, who had some serious health issues.
*I attended many fun reading groups and read some great books.
*I was on the Community Council for Fielding School.
*I had the great opportunity of going to the temple with my friend April Saunders. I was her escort as she went for the first time. Later, I helped with a baby shower for April.
*I celebrated my 33rd birthday.
*I received a scholarship from Utah State University.
*I did the Baby Contest for the Plymouth Rodeo. I also helped with the Plymouth Rodeo.
*I had Kelly Parkinson straighten my hair.
*I had the opportunity to help with the Brigham Temple Open House. I was on bootie duty. :) I was able to go on a special tour of the temple.
*I completed my student teaching. For the first block I was with Mrs. Carolyn Michaelis and for the second block I was with Sherri Madson. These ladies are wonderful teachers and friends. I am very grateful for all that I learned from them and their students.
*I went to the premier of "Breaking Dawn" with Kelly Parkinson, Ann Marie Bowen, and Steffanie Burton at 10 PM.
*I had a cookie and ornament exchange with my friends before Christmas.
*I did my screening interview with the Box Elder School District. Mr. Steve Chadaz and Mr. David Lee interviewed me.
*I went to the McKinely School Christmas party.
Cooper:
*Cooper participated in many scout activities and camping trips including a snowy stay at Earley Park, two swimming and biking camp-trips to Crystal Springs, a biking trip to Willard Bay, two camping trips to Mason's Farm, hiked to Mine Hollow, Arches National Park, and the Palisades.
*Cooper helped display flags around the community for many holidays throughout the year.
*Cooper gave an amazing talk in sacrament meeting about kindness.
*Cooper participated in the World's Fair at the Intermediate School. He chose the country of China.
*Cooper completed sixth grade and started seventh grade at the Intermediate School.
*Cooper competed in the Utah Youth Rodeo. He qualified for the finals and Nick and I attended the awards dinner at the Timbermine with him.
*Cooper got his braces off.
*Cooper qualified for the Breakfast of Champions.
*Cooper competed in the Hide Race at the Plymouth Rodeo.
*Cooper received his patriarchal blessing on August 5th by President Welling.
*Cooper and I went to EFY in Salt Lake City. He even bore his testimony! (I was so proud of him.) The next day he rode his bike with the scouts from Salt Lake to Lagoon.
*Cooper participated in the Temple Celebration for the Brigham City Temple. He dressed as a Spaniard.
*Cooper and Nick went to a priesthood fireside and BBQ.
*Cooper received many scouting merit badges. He should have his Eagle in one year.
*Cooper showed his pig and received a Star Choice Ribbon. He sold his pig to Nucor.
*Cooper celebrated his 13th birthday. Nick and I took Cooper and his friend, Cade, to Scheel's.
*Cooper attended his first school dance.
*Cooper shot his first deer! (I actually forgot to include this information and Cooper reminded me that this was a VERY important event for the year.)
Taylor:
*Taylor took piano lessons from Joslyn Udy and then Sheila Capener.
*Taylor took singing lessons from Tiffani Roche.
*Taylor completed fourth grade (Mrs. Beth Stamey was her teacher.) and started the fifth grade (Mrs. Smith is her teacher) at Fielding School.
*Taylor had her tenth birthday.
*Taylor and I went to "The Wizard of Oz" at the Old Barn for an activity days activity. It was great! (We even got to go on my birthday.)
*I went with Taylor's fourth grade class on a field trip to the Bird Refuge.
*Taylor showed her pig and received a blue ribbon. She sold her pig to Nucor.
*Taylor went to the Bear River High School Volleyball Camp and loved it.
*Taylor participated in many fun Activity Days activities throughout the year. Her leaders were Janelle Hurd, Barbara Vanderhoof, and Danielle Kupfer.
*Taylor auditioned for "The Christmas Carol" at the Old Barn Theatre. She got the part of Claire Fiziwig.
*Taylor's fifth grade class performed "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown." Taylor sang a solo! I helped with the lights.
*Taylor memorized "The Night Before Christmas."
Brooklyn:
*Brooklyn took piano lessons from Joslyn Udy and then Shiela Capener.
*Brooklyn took singing lessons from Tiffani Roche.
*Brooklyn completed the first grade (Mrs. Perry was her teacher.) and started the second grade (Ms. Murray) is her teacher.
*Brooklyn had a growth removed from her ear and the tubes taken out of her ears. A few weeks later, she had tubes put back in her ears.
*I went with Brooklyn to the first grade Farm Field Day in Howell.
*I was able to volunteer in Brooklyn's first grade class.
*Brooklyn celebrated her eighth birthday.
*Brooklyn was baptized at 9 PM on her birthday. She had her own program and baptism. Taylor and I gave a talk together. Nick baptized and confirmed her.
*Brooklyn started going to Activity Days. Her leader is Steffanie Burton.
The Christensen Family:
*Nick and Taylor went skiing a few times.
*Nick and I went skiing with Mike and Gloria Rudd. Nick and Mike skied while Gloria and I went cross-country skiing. (This was my first time and I loved it!)
*We hosted a fun Chinese New Year party with the Berry's.
*We saw "Alvin and the Chipmunks" in the theatre.
*We had many, many fun family home evenings with the extended Christensen family.
*Taylor and Brooklyn went to Dads and Doughnuts with Grandpa Berry.
*Dustin Douglas got baptized.
*We wrote letters to Elder Braiden Richins throughout the year and we were so excited when he came home from his mission in November.
*Taylor and Brooklyn auditioned for and got parts in the Garland Children's Theatre production of "Treasure Island." They played pigaloos and townspeople.
*Nick and I helped celebrate Mike Rudd's 50th birthday with a fun surprise party.
*We stayed in Burley, Idaho for the weekend in April and purchased pigs for the fair.
*Our family went on a picnic to Logan Canyon with Grandpa and Grandma Berry.
*We helped with a bridal shower for Elyse and Cassidi.
*Taylor and I walked throughout the summer getting ready for the temple walk. We walked with the Young Women of the Fielding State to the Brigham City Temple. (We started in Bear River City.)
*The girls and I helped Jodi a few times at the Old Barn. We were able to see some great plays.
*Jon Lish got married. The kids and I attended his beautiful wedding.
*We went to the Lish Reunion in June.
*We attended Bonnie's reception in Mantua. It was so cute! We had a silly family picture taken in the photo booth.
*We went to Lagoon for Nucor Day. Robyn (Grandma Christensen) went with us.
*The kids had a lemonade stand in the summer. They earned money for the fair (about $30 each).
*Taylor and I competed in the Plymouth Fun Walk/Run. I got first place in my division and Taylor got first place in her division (walking) and third place in the run.
*Nick and I went to Cub River to Young Women camp.
*We attended Elyse's wedding and helped with the reception.
*We went to the Brigham City Temple Open House. Taylor and Brooklyn also went with the extended Christensen family and Taylor, Brooklyn, and I went with Grandma and Grandpa Berry and Cassidi.
*We attended the Fielding School Open House and Dedication. Taylor had the opportunity to sing during the program.
*We went to the Plymouth Town fireworks on Labor Day and the Tremonton fireworks at the Intermediate School with the extended Christensen family.
*The kids and I attended the Brigham Temple Dedication on September 23rd. Brooklyn was able to go because she was baptized the day before. We all have white Brigham City Temple handkerchiefs.
*Nick and Cooper went elk hunting October 5th-7th.
*We went to Levi and Cassidi wedding in Morgan. It was fun!
*We had a fun Halloween Party at Matt and Nicole's house with the extended Christensen family.
*I was a hippie for Halloween. Cooper was a wolf. Taylor was an Indian. Brooklyn was a hippie.
*Adam and Patty had a baby, Ira Brent. We went to the baby blessing.
*Nick and I voted for Mitt Romney for president, but he did not win. :(
*We went to the bridal shower and reception for Josh Rudd and Camille Jackman Rudd.
*We had Thanksgiving dinner at Robyn and Craig's. Tasha, Jeremy, and Alivia were there too.
*Nick and I went shopping on Thanksgiving night.
*We went to the Hill Christmas party, the Estep Christmas Party, two Christensen Christmas parties, the List Christmas party, and the Berry Christmas party.
*We did the 12 Days of Christmas for Jeremy, Tasha, and Alivia.
*Martell Menlove was released as our stake president and Jay Capener was put in as the new stake president.
*Nick and I took the kids to Maddox for dinner twice.
*We went to Grandma and Grandpa Christensen's for New Year's Eve. Tasha, Jeremy, Alivia, Nicole, Bailey, Ashley, Wes, Kaitlyn, Dustin, Chelsey, Nathan, Kyson, and Taige were there. We ate dinner and played games.
